Muthuvallur Grama Panchayat is situated in the Kondotty Block of Kondotty Taluk in Malappuram district. The Grama Panchayat was formed on 2 October 2005. The Panchayat covers an area of 26.09 square kilometres. It is bordered by Cheekode Grama Panchayat to the north; Kuzhimanna Grama Panchayat and Areekode Grama Panchayat to the east; Kondotty Municipality and Kuzhimanna Panchayat to the south; and Pulikkal Grama Panchayat and Kondotty Municipality to the west.

Muthuvallur is a Panchayat with a literacy rate of 90%. Tourist attractions located in the Panchayat include Kall Vettimala, Narimada Cave, Iratta Kinar (Twin Wells), the large banyan tree, and Parakkulam, which includes the Namaskara Kallu. The hills situated in the Panchayat are Mayilambram Mala, Kunnath Mala, Thaliyil Puraya Mala, Nellikunnu Mala, Chirakkal Cholamala, Vallikkattu Kunnu Mala, Ikkallur Puraya Mala, and Karingara Mala.

According to its geographical features, Muthuvallur Grama Panchayat lies in the midland region. The major crops cultivated in the Panchayat are banana, pepper, betel leaf, cashew, and various vegetables. Vachal Thodu and Marath Thodu are the irrigation sources in the Panchayat. The 22 ponds in the Panchayat, if properly maintained and utilized, can be used not only for agricultural purposes but also for supplying drinking water.

Muthuvallur is a Panchayat with strong potential for small-scale and medium-scale industries. Several educational institutions are located in the Panchayat. There are 7 government schools and 4 private schools functioning in the area. In addition, the Technical Higher Secondary School Muthuvallur is a technical educational institution functioning under the Government.
